Music puts together us, excites us and makes us grow. The Sociedad Musical del País Valencià in Barcelona is much more than a band; it is a place where music drives us to continue learning and growing personally and collectively. Between rehearsals and concerts we share a unique way of living music that connects us with our roots.
Beyond the stage, we believe in the importance of learning, discovering new social and artistic perspectives, and sharing experiences with musicians from all over Europe. When we heard about the opportunity of an Erasmus+ project for adults, we immediately knew we wanted to be part of it. Erasmus+ is the European Union programme that promotes educational mobility and training in the fields of education, youth, sport and culture, with the aim of fostering inclusion and lifelong learning.
This platform allows us to develop different mobility activities abroad around adult education, as well as to host music experts and similar institutions from all over Europe at our home.
Erasmus+ values
Erasmus+ is founded on a set of values that resonate deeply with us as a band. The programme seeks:
- Social inclusion and quality education: offering training opportunities to all people, regardless of their background or circumstances.
- Cultural diversity: to promote exchange and respect between cultures, using music as a tool for connection.
- Active participation: to encourage participation in social and personal development processes, strengthening common European values.
- Educational innovation: exploring new teaching methodologies that allow for more inclusive and creative learning.
Why have we decided to participate?
Deciding to participate in Erasmus+ was not a casual decision. First of all, we believe that music is a powerful tool to promote international cooperation, tolerance and mutual respect, values that are fundamental within the Erasmus+ project.
Furthermore, we want to open up to new methodologies, exchange knowledge and experiences with other bands and music groups in Europe, and establish links that will allow us to improve both personally and professionally.
The road we started together
This is just the beginning of a journey that promises to be unforgettable. As we move forward, we will share with you all the details about our project, the activities we will do and the experiences we will live. But the most important is that, thanks to Erasmus+, we will have the opportunity to continue growing together as a band and as individuals, opening doors to new connections, new ideas and, above all, a new way of seeing music and the world around us.
