After months of preparation, our Erasmus+ mobility in Sicily is about to start, a trip that promises to be an unforgettable musical and human experience.
Our colleagues of the Corpo Bandistico ‘Maestro Giuseppe Caruso’ of Novara di Sicilia have prepared for us a stay that we will not forget. We are 70 musicians who will travel to different towns of this beautiful Italian island, where we will not only share music but also unique moments of conviviality and brotherhood and, of course, music. We are travelling from the 3rd to the 7th of July and we are looking forward to share with everybody all the experiences that these days will bring us.
We will be staying in Novara di Sicilia, a village in the metropolitan city of Messina. On Thursday morning we will leave for Italy and arrive in Novara in the afternoon. To close the day, we will have dinner with the Novara band in a relaxed and warm atmosphere in the main square of the town.

Friday and Saturday will be days to get to know two more villages and their musicians: Castroreale and Milazzo. On Friday we will be in Castroreale, where we will do a passacarrer in the afternoon, and then we will participate in the 23rd Festival Musicale ‘Ricardo Casalaina’ where the local band, the Storica banda Musicale ‘Maestro Settimo Sardo’ will also be there.
Saturday will be a day to enjoy the sea on the beach of Milazzo during the morning. In the afternoon we will move into the village to prepare for the passacarrer and the concert, where we will again perform a joint repertoire with the musical band ‘Pietro Mascagni’ and close the evening with music and good atmosphere.
On Sunday we will stay in Novara, with the morning free to visit the town in depth. At noon we will enjoy a lunch together in a local restaurant, and in the evening we will celebrate the most special moment: the joint concert in the square, with the participation of the two bands.
To close the weekend, we will prepare a popular paella in the square for all the musicians and neighbours, a feast that will symbolise our gratitude towards this town that welcomes us.
On Monday morning we will pick up and leave for Catania, where we will have the afternoon free to rest or enjoy the city. Later, we will go to the airport to catch our flight back to Barcelona.
With such an intense and rich programme of activities we are sure that this Erasmus+ project will be one more step on our way as a band. Stay tuned to the blog and our networks because we will be explaining how we are doing!
Are you ready for this musical adventure? We sure are!
