From 18 to 21 September, our director Joan Miquel Ripoll and our colleague David Miranda took part in a job shadowing programme with the Uppsala Blåsarsymfoniker band as part of the Erasmus+ programme in Linköping, Sweden.
This stay marked the conclusion of our Erasmus+ project, the final stage after our stay in Sicily in July and the training internship with Sara Maganzini in April.
Job shadowing, according to the Erasmus+ programme guidelines, allows participants to observe and take part in the daily practices of professionals at a host organisation, with the aim of gaining new ideas and pedagogical perspectives. During their stay, Joan Miquel and David attended meetings with conductors and musicians and enjoyed performances by the Uppsala Blåsarsymfoniker at the Svensk Blasmusikfestival Linköping, one of Sweden’s most important national band competitions.
During their stay, they took part in various training activities, such as rehearsal and conducting techniques, participating in rehearsals and enjoying the final concert. They also enjoyed informal meetings and gatherings with the members, where they discussed the particularities and working methods of each of the groups.

We would like to congratulate the Uppsala Blåsarsymfoniker on their first place in the competition and thank them wholeheartedly for their hospitality, as well as David Miranda for acting as a bridge with the local band, as he is a former member of this musical group. This job shadowing has been the culmination of a project that has helped us grow as a band, as musicians and as a group.
After Sicily, the stage with Sara Maganzini and this stay in Sweden, our hearts are full and we have many new ideas and insights that we will apply in our rehearsals and concerts.
